What is AFFA Action and how is it different than
the Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA)?

501(c)(4) Organization

AFFA Action

AFFA Action is a 501(c)(4) political advocacy organization engaged in year-round lobbying and strategic LGBTQ+ advocacy on the local, regional, and state levels. AFFA Action was incorporated in 2023 with the purpose of deepening our statewide policy advocacy, and strengthening the collective political power of our community.

What does AFFA Action do?

  • Ensures an LGBTQ+ lobbying presence at the State House every day of the legislative session.

  • Builds relationships with state legislators to increase understanding of and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Engages with municipal leaders to promote and communicate LGBTQ+ community priorities.

  • Hosts quarterly community advocacy programs to educate and empower community members and allies to fight the good fight for LGBTQ+ justice and equality.

  • Organizes LGBTQ+ candidate forums for local and state races to inform the electorate and elevate discussion on the issues of importances to LGBTQ+ people.

Contributions to AFFA Action are not tax deductible as charitable contributions under the Internal Revenue Code because AFFA Action is a 501(c)(4) political advocacy organization.

Alliance For Full Acceptance

501(c)(3) Organization

Founded in 1998, the Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA) is our 501(c)(3) organization that focuses efforts on education, community awareness, and organizing programs. Initiatives include the educational training that we facilitate with businesses, governmental agencies, and organizations, educational programs we host for community members, and media campaigns that raise awareness and spark conversation about the issues that are important to the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.

Contributions to the Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA) are tax deductible as charitable contributions under the Internal Revenue Code to the extent allowed by law. AFFA is a 501(c)(3) organization.
